Hola!

My name is James A. Castillo and I am an art director/ director based in London, UK.

Original from Madrid, Spain I moved to London about 4 years ago after travelling around trying to find a place to start my career in animation. Since then I have worked with most studios here, such as Nexus, Passion, Blink Ink, Painting Practice, etc. The industry here is so rich!

Lately I have had the luck to start working on bigger productions abroad with clients such as Netflix, Paramount or Sony Pictures.

In the recent years I have been pursuing developing my own projects, driven by passion and love for the craft I ended up teaming up with No Ghost, a VR/AR Studio in London to develop an original VR experience called Madrid Noir, directed and created by me. It will be released later this year.

In a personal note, I want to see animation catching up with technology and populating new and unexpected mediums. The power of animation is as limited as our imagination and I believe there are amazing opportunities to explore the story telling powers of animation in new ways. Also, Europe is an incredible talent pool and I want to push to see the industry here develop and grow.
