Alfio Bastiancich

Graduated with a degree in Human Studies and a master in Corporate Management, Alfio Bastiancich is a manager, professor and journalist in the cinema and television field and currently General Manager of Animation and Youth Programs of Showlab Srl, a company of the Prodea Group S.p.A. During his long career, he has been founder and President, of the Italian chapter of the Association Internationale du Film d’Animation, ASIFA, author of many essays, books and articles. He has been a board member of the Museo Nazionale del Cinema in Turin and of the Cartoon-Media Programme, defining strategies on the development of the animation industry in Europe. He has been professor at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome for which he founded, in 2001, the Animation Department in Turin. From 1995 to 2008 he served as a consultant to RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana for which he also founded and directed for twelve years “Cartoons on the Bay”, the International Festival on Television Animation. He designed and produced many television programs for RAI and for other broadcasters. In 2001 the Hollywood’s “Animation Magazine” reported him among the fifteen most influential people of the European animation industry.
